HELLER-LEDER presents the serial production of a brand new leather: BLATTWERK®, tanned by olive leaves. This revolutionary leather combines a sustainable, clean product with an economically support to the partly commercial weak regions where olives are grown. In the long run, this avoids the environmental pollution at the plantations where the leaves were burnt so far. So a sustainable product is developed for the pure pleasure of leather. In November 2012, HELLER-LEDER was amongst the first three (out of 697) of the German Sustainability Award, category "eco-label Blauer Engel". This award is addressed to German companies of all sizes and industries, which consider to the greatest possible extent ecological and social issues in the process of value creation and operate profitably at the same time.
